Although this month’s numbers remain strong, there are two indicators ORRA will be tracking closely. One is the inventory, which has reached its highest point since October 1996. In addition, we should all monitor contracts, which reports show have been dropping anywhere from 16-25% in some areas of the country. Indeed, Orlando-area contracts were down to 2,571 in November, the lowest number since February. (For contract figures, please visit Housing Statistics on www.orlrealtor.com.) That was a 16% drop from October. However, the good news is that written contracts are up almost 5% since last November, and are averaging 2,906 per month so far this year.
