ORRA Committees

Budget and Finance Committee provides general oversight and direction regarding the financial and budgetary aspects of the association’s operations.

Communications Committee oversees the communications efforts of the association, including internal and external messages delivered via current and emergent methods. The committee plans the association’s annual consumer advertising campaign and oversees two subcommittees: Advertising Subcommittee and Website Subcommittee.

Governmental Affairs Committee serves as ORRA’s political arm by keeping track of regulations that affect the real estate industry, participating in public meetings, and contacting governmental officials.

Grievance Committee receives ethics complaints and arbitration requests and determines whether or not hearings are warranted.

ORRA/FR Committee develops programs that encourage involvement by ORRA members in FR and NAR, recommends candidates for FR and NAR leadership positions, and develops strategies to assist in their election or appointment as required.

Professional Standards Committee, in accordance with the association’s NAR charter, provides trained and competent panels as required to conduct fair and impartial hearings on alleged unethical conduct by ORRA members or in arbitration of business disputes as defined in the NAR Professional Standards Manual.

REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) oversees political fundraising.

Strategic Planning Committee provides long-range planning for the association by preparing an annual strategic plan and by determining long-term goals and objectives.

ORRA Task Forces

Awards Task Force organizes, plans, and implements ORRA’s yearly awards program. Members select which awards to give out and, with input from the general membership, determine award recipients.

Bylaws and Policies Task Force reviews ORRA’s governing documents to ensure they remain current to FREC, FR, and NAR rules. The task force also suggests changes to ORRA’s present policies and procedures to reflect the changing needs of the association and its membership

ORRA Councils

Brokers Council provides brokers with informative presentations in areas such as risk management/legal liability, industry trends and issues, legislative and regulatory issues, and brokerage management concerns. The council also oversees Orlando Broker Solutions, solicits broker input on ORRA programs and industry/community issues, and provides networking opportunities for brokers. It oversees the MLS Subcommittee.

Orlando Regional International Council organizes information and networking opportunities designed to increase council members’ international real estate transactions.

Young Professionals Network helps young real estate professionals excel in their careers by providing tools and encouragement via mentors, networking events, and community service projects.

ORRA Forums

Affiliate Forum plans the networking and social programs of the association, including membership luncheons, holiday open houses, and the annual REALTOR® Expo. This forum also coordinates school outreach programs.

Professional Development Forum seeks to improve REALTOR® professionalism and productivity via educational programming suitable for all segments of the ORRA membership. Members identify new topics and evaluate the content of current classes. The forum oversees three subcommittees:

Market Diversity Subcommittee develops policy promoting diversity within the real estate industry and ORRA’s membership. It also identifies concerns and needs of minority members and assists in the development of actions to address those concerns. Finally, it seeks to promote changes in real estate practices to reflect growing cultural diversity.

Risk Management Subcommittee aims to reduce members’ legal liability and business risks, Orlando REALTOR® articles, and website content.

Property Management Subcommittee meets to discuss market trends and hosts presentations by property management experts.
